Bracelets

Although the term armlet may be technically similar, it is taken to mean an item that sits on the upper arm: an arm ring. The origin of the term 'bracelet' is from the Latin 'brachile' meaning 'of the arm', via the Old French 'barcel'.

 

The history of Egyptian bracelets is as old as 5000 BC. Starting with materials like bones, stones and woods to serve religious and spiritual interests. From the National Geographic Society, the Scarab Bracelet is one of the most recognized symbols of ancient Egypt. The scarab represented rebirth and regeneration. Carved scarabs were worn as jewelry and wrapped into the linen bandages of mummies. Myth told of the scarab god, Khepri, pushing the sun across the sky.

Materials

Our bracelets are made mainly in sterling silver, Magnetic Hematite and Memory Wire coils. The coil generally won’t lose it’s shape with normal wear, adjusts to fit most wrist sizes, and is quite comfortable. Also, there is no clasp to fumble with closing, if you suffer with arthritis.

 

The bracelets have matching pieces, and the same stones are used for all my jewelry pieces, but may not match exactly on the coil bracelets, since some stones are drilled smaller than others, and stones/pearls may be slightly different.

 

I use mostly lead free crystals (with the exception of Swarovski crystals), actual gemstones, mineral stones, etc. Most are natural colors, although some stones may be color enhanced. Many pieces have freshwater, cultured pearls in them.
